Steel Mill Awareness and Sentiments Insights

Challenge

Our partner in the steel industry wanted to gauge awareness and sentiment towards a series of local steel plants in the area.

In collaboration with our partner in the steel industry, we embarked on a comprehensive endeavor to assess the awareness and sentiment surrounding a cluster of local steel plants. We meticulously scrutinized several factors pertaining to local attitudes and beliefs concerning the operations and impact of these steel plants. Through a nuanced examination of community perceptions, we sought to gain valuable insights into the prevailing sentiments towards the industry, aiming to inform strategic decisions and foster meaningful engagement with stakeholders.

Our analytics delved into multiple areas, probing not only the public's awareness but also their perceptions of the intrinsic nature of these steel plants. By analyzing attitudes, beliefs, and sentiments prevalent within the local populace, we aimed to gain a comprehensive understanding of the factors shaping community views towards the steel industry. This endeavor underscores our commitment to fostering transparency, understanding, and collaboration, as we navigate the complex landscape of industrial operations within the local ecosystem.

Residents surveyed within several zip codes across the country using an online survey.

Approach

We used an online survey to poll 1,290 residents using zip codes found within 25-mile radius of the client’s steel plants.

Our approach ensured not only a localized perspective but also provided geographically diverse data, offering the client a comprehensive understanding of how their operations are perceived across different regions of the country. By strategically selecting respondents from varying geographical locations, we facilitated a nuanced analysis that empowered the client to tailor their strategies based on the unique perceptions and needs of each community.

The utilization of this survey methodology enabled the client to formulate a macro-level approach towards enhancing their standing within local communities. Armed with granular insights into regional sentiments and attitudes towards their steel plants, the client could delineate targeted initiatives aimed at bolstering their reputation and fostering positive relationships with stakeholders.

Results

HarrisX data and analysis allowed the client to draft a macro approach towards how to sell themselves in local communities.
